Scenery of Taylor

As we were driving around today we came across these few items. I thought they were pretty cool. I wish I could have gotten closer to a bunch of them, mostly the windmills. I love Windmills.

This was a spot in the middle of no where and we were actually driving and it was flat all around us, we stopped to take pictures of the bridge (next image) and we could hear the water. It was getting pretty dark, so we plan to return tomorrow to check it out further and get some better pictures.

This is the bridge that was near the falls above. It was a one lane wood and steel bridge. Very cool looking, I also like bridges. Today was a good day for Bryon's favorite structures.

This is a windmill farm near Heber, Arizona. I tried getting closer, but anything closer was requiring 4 wheel drive or to trespass. Neither of which I was looking to do since I was in the mother-in-law's Chevy Traverse and she was in the car. =)

This is a little windmill found at a local tourist trap off of I-40 called Geronimo's. These types of windmills are found all over the place. This was a good opportunity to get close to capture the look and structure.

Out in the Country

Today we spent some time walking around town and experiencing this wonderful small city. Here are a few images that I enjoyed from todays excursions.

Country Road with some nice looking clouds.

This is a bull that I love, I have started calling him Buddy and I think he has taken a liking to me as well, every time I go up to his pen he comes to visit.

NRAO - National Radio Astronomy Observatory

Sunday we took a trip into New Mexico. This was the first time my family had been in there. It was a great time. The views were amazing, because of all the rain this time of the year, so many things are green. It was also raining a fair amount of the time on the way out. We were headed for NRAO - VLA. Which translates to "National Radio Astronomy Observatory - Very Large Array" You may have seen it already yourself on TV if you have seen the movie Contact. It was pretty quiet. There were not many people. You can see some of the images below.

This one one Radio Telescope in for repair. Notice that there is a triangular shape at the bottom left of the enclosure. This is the covering over a normal sized door. These dishes are the size of a baseball diamond on the in field.

This is the back view of a telescope.

The front telescope of a few in a row.

A cool looking picture of the array. From the air, they are in a "Y" shape and are 27 of them. 9 on each leg. Check out this link for an aerial map on Google.

Moab & Rockhounding

The Densley's wanted to get out of town and enjoy some fun in the sun. A co-worker comes to Moab very frequently with his trailered Jeep. He has always left the invitation open so we decided to take him up on it this trip.
