Rhino-the-bot

As part of my Mechanical Engineering degree we are required to take Mechatronics. In short, it is a 2 semester class that enable us to use many classes and knowledge that we have learned to date. Therefore with a team of 4, Markus, David, Shane and myself, we created what we call the Rhino bot. This has been a fun project and I look forward to fine tuning and working on it next semester with these guys. They have all been great and we are pleased with the outcome. Apparently so is the professor, I have been told that we are the only group to score nearly perfect with the professor on our robot demonstration that we had on Monday.

Below are a few images of the robot. Enjoy.

Looks good and it sounds like your group is working well together, but with you there was there ever a doubt. I can't remember what kind of course does the robot have to navigate this year?

For the course we have to line follow, track down a magnetic field or LED and then pickup the crate before our competitor does. Each crate has different point values along with returning it home.

Thanks for the explanation, I thought with the top grill it was a contest to cook the perfect hot dog or something. What a fun little project, sure beats the lame accounting projects I had to do in school...
